about

Who are we?

Phoenix Tale Productions is a full-service video production company that specializes in social media content, event coverage, branded content films, and web commercials. In 2014, after seeing too many independent film productions never reach a screen big or small, founder and director Spencer Ryerson started up Phoenix Tale Productions to help get those stories reach the finish line.

At Phoenix Tale Productions, we strive to tell impactful stories, collaborate with great people, and create memorable, repeat-worthy videos that stand out from the endless feeds of content that demand our attention. Since its creation, we’ve collaborated with brands big and small, global and local. We love working with small businesses and purpose-driven brands that want to make a difference in our constantly changing world. We’re friendly, detail-oriented and scalable to fit a project’s needs with experience in on-set production and 2D animation.

FOUNDER / DIRECTOR

Spencer Ryerson is an award winning Toronto-based director and editor. As founder of Phoenix Tale Productions, he has over 14 years experience bringing narrative and commercial projects to life, from initial conception to playing on screens big and small internationally. In 2026, Phoenix Tale Productions was awarded “Best Visual Storytelling” at the Canadian Special Events Awards for his collaborations with Cirque Revolution, CNE and Vito Amati Photography.

Working as both an experienced videographer and full-time editor grants Spencer the ability to visualize the cuts and most impactful moments during shooting, and to ensure all the necessary pieces are there to create a captivating end product. While he creates and collaborates on a wide variety of projects, he loves telling impactful stories and collaborating with local community businesses and socially minded organizations. He also loves capturing the excitement of an evening's epic event and carrying over that excitement to the small screen in bite-sized stories
